When the local police alerted us to his situation and asked us to take him in, <strong>we immediately brought him to <em>Footprints of Joy<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite his traumatic past, Zorro has shown <strong>great trust in humans<\/strong>, while significant difficulties immediately emerged when interacting with other dogs.\u00a0We therefore began a <strong>socialization program<\/strong> to manage his anxiety and develop his communication skills with other dogs, and he is making <strong>tremendous progress<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Zorro will soon find a forever home, but many dogs confined to chains will never be so lucky.<\/p>\n<p>In Romania, <strong>keeping a dog on a chain is still legal<\/strong>, and in rural areas (which make up most of the country) it is the norm.
